saudade.

I just found my new favourite word:

Saudade,.

Apparently this word is Portuguese and there is no English word that would be a direct translation for it. The word means to have a deep nostalgic longing for someone or something that you love. Along with that, it carries the knowledge that what you are longing for will never return. Some describe it as the love that remains once someone is gone, or the emptiness felt when you know someone should be there in a particular moment but are not. It is also the recollection of experiences or events that once brought happiness and well-being, and it now triggers those senses and makes you live again. In Portuguese, you can even use it towards someone you are currently with but still carries a sense of loss towards the past or future.

You can’t tell me that’s not beautiful.
